Bow Hunting Skills, Ninja Skills, Camera Skills

Recently I decided that I wanted to use our camera more. I started going outside on pretty days and taking pictures of this and that. I've been learning about macro mode for close ups, lighting, and when to use a flash.

The other night I was taking pictures of a delicious ice cream sundae I had made. I wanted to use the pictures for my cooking blog. Jeff was copying the pictures onto the computer and after seeing a photograph of half a bowl and a spot of ice cream he asks, "what are you trying to do here." I replied, "I was trying to take pictures of my ice cream!" ...maybe my photography skills need a little work :)

Here are a couple of pictures of the flowers Jeff got me the other day.

Just Because

Last night after visiting a friend in the hospital, I came home to find a pretty bouquet of flowers waiting for me. The bouquet consisted of very pretty delicate purple flowers, pink daisies, these green pom pom looking things, and some carnations. It was such a nice surprise and very thoughtful of the husband.

We have two cats. One is three years old and one is 5 months old. They both were very intrigued by these flowers. No sooner had I arrived home I found Link (the youngest one) on the table sniffing the flowers. He knows he is not allowed to be on our kitchen table. A little later I see Dobby (the oldest one) sitting on a chair at the table and stretching as far as he could without being on the table. He was sitting there chewing on my pretty flowers!

A little later, as we were going to bed, the husband wanted to get something to drink. He went in the kitchen and turned on the light. I hear a blurt and see a grey blur jumping off the table. The little trouble maker had been on my table chewing on my flowers again! We decided that we were going to have put the flowers up for the night.

This morning while getting ready for work, I could hear Link running around like a maniac, which is pretty typical for the morning. As I was walking by the kitchen, I see a little packet on the floor with this white powder all around. Apparently the husband left the flower preserver packet on the counter, and Link had found it. I was worried that it might be harmful to animals, but Link seemed to be fine. But it sure was fun getting that powder stuff out of the cracks of my hardwoods :)
